This spring, I received the Indiana Associated Press Will Counts Photojournalism Award, a honor given to the state’s top young photojournalist.
At college, I worked for the Indiana Daily Student and the IU School of Journalism. I also freelance for the Indianapolis Star. My internships include the Austin American-Statesman, the South Bend Tribune, the Bloomington Herald-Times and The Commercial Review.
My work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Indianapolis Star, Le Monde, Boston Globe, Detroit Free Press, Sacramento Bee, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Washington Times, Honolulu Advertiser, Louisville Courier-Journal and Houston Chronicle via The Associated Press wire. In addition, my work has appeared in MSNBC’s The Week in Pictures.
I am a member of the National Press Photographers Association, the Indiana Press Photographers Association and SportsShooter.com. In 2006, I advanced to the rank of Eagle Scout in my local Boy Scouts of America troop.
In February, I was named the 2009 Indiana College Photographer of the Year. I was also selected as a member of the 2009 UWIRE 100, a list of the country’s top 100 college journalists.
