Marine cake cutting
Karl Schmidt, a World War II veteran and Marine who served in the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945, holds a piece of cake as one of the oldest Marines in attendance at a Semper Fi Fish Fry on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Kelleher's Irish Pub. The event featured a formal Marine cake cutting ceremony in which guests of honor, the oldest Marine and youngest Marine receive pieces of cake cut by a Mameluke sword.
