]]> I spent most of my Saturday at work photographing motocross racing at RedBud in Buchanan, Mich. I have to admit that I don’t know much about motocross so the entire event was extremely new to me. I shot the same race three years ago for the Tribune as an intern, but luckily I was much more prepared this time than my previous experience. I really liked photographing at RedBud. The track officials were extremely friendly and didn’t harass photographers and scrutinize their every move (I’m look at you, Indianapolis Motor Speedway “yellow shirts”). This made it easy to move around and look for different shots during the races. Unfortunately, I had a battery die on my 1D Mark III as I was in the middle of the first race, leaving me only with a 5D and a 7D to shoot the second race.
