An evening at the ballpark

June 22, 2010

Here’s a feature I shot tonight up at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. The Statesman had a suite reserved at the minor league game there for the interns and a few staffers.

A man shields his eyes from the sun as he watches a minor league baseball game between Round Rock and Omaha at Dell Diamond in Round Rock on Monday, June 21, 2010. The two were some of the only fans to sit looking into the sun on the first base side before sundown.

Summer camp

June 17, 2010

Some days are slow, some days are busy. Today was awesome. My lone assignment was to go hang out at a summer camp West of Austin. It was a really neat camp and the director and counselors were extremely nice to the reporter and I. Here are a few images I made at the camp:

Sports Country Camp counsellor Craig Koenig, middle, is swarmed by campers, at left, during a game of bandanna tag at the camp in Dripping Springs on Thursday, June 17, 2010. Koenig, who is a former camper, was one of five counselors taking on the entire group of campers at the game.
