Towards the end of my shift on Saturday, I grabbed my camera and a 50 mm lens and wandered over to the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge, which happens to house the largest urban bat colony in North America. It also happens to be directly next to the Statesman parking lot where I park everyday. Each night around dusk, the public show up in masses to see the dusk flight of the bats from under the bridge as they head out to hunt for food at night. I am yet to see it, but apparently the swarm looks like something out of a Batman movie. While on the bridge, I made this feature of a glow stick vendor down below the bridge. I love to get overhead shots because of the interesting perspective it renders.
