When it rains, it pours

June 29, 2010

When it rains, it pours. This is certainly the case in Texas. It doesn’t sprinkle here, it unloads gallons. At least this has been the case during my stay this summer in Texas. After my first assignment of the day, I headed back to the office, but started shooting rain features when a downpour started.

A man paddles down Barton Creek as a heavy rainstorm unloads on the area on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Several people in kayaks and canoes took shelter under bridges during the rain storm.

A motorist drives through a stretch of flooded road on Oltorf Street near the intersection with Congress Avenue on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Heavy rains partially flooded streets and roads in several areas of Austin.
