Last weekend I had the opportunity to photograph the inaugural commencement for Wyoming Catholic College. Founded in 2005, the school is a private liberal arts school in rural Lander, Wyoming. On Saturday, May 14, the school handed out bachelor of liberal arts degrees to 30 students. I was hired to document the occasion by the college. Between a few standard podium shots and group shots, I focused mainly on in-between, candid moments during the day. Although some might categorize an assignment like this as “commercial,” I approached it like I was hired to document history. After all being that this was the school’s first commencement, it was history. I had free roam throughout the day so I wandered around before, after and during the ceremony photographing everything that I saw. Here are a few of my favorites. You can also view more photos here.
