Paint it white

July 16, 2013

Working the day shift in the summer normally means working in harsh, overhead light, but occasionally I luck out and find some interesting light right when my shift begins at 9 a.m.

933 Mural
Volunteers Keith Monville, left, and Jerry Gingras roll on an initial coat of white paint on a concrete wall on Monday, July 15, 2013, morning along Indiana 933 (Michigan Street) north of downtown South Bend. Monday marked the first day of lane restrictions on the road as local artists paint a mural on the pedestrian overpass spanning the roadway. The road is expected to return to four-lanes by Sept. 30.
