Granfalloon

June 9, 2024

Granfalloon is an annual festival inspired by the works and ethos of the famous Hoosier author Kurt Vonnegut Jr. The term “granfalloon” itself comes from Vonnegut’s novel Cat’s Cradle, where it refers to a group of people who outwardly choose or claim to have a shared identity or purpose, but whose mutual association is actually meaningless. Accordingly, this year’s festival featured an eclectic mix of events, including a musical performance by Sleater-Kinney, a Q&A with Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Carl Bernstein and an art exhibit talk by Nanette Vonnegut.
