Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW)

May 24, 2010

I’m usually not a huge fan of museums. That was until today. We visited the BMW Museum, which was especially interesting because of the priceless collection it houses and also because of the architecture of the museum itself. It was one of the coolest buildings I’ve been in. Normally I stray away from museum shots, but I made a few pictures at the BMW Museum playing off of their interesting lighting setups:

Schwangau, Germany

May 24, 2010

Schwangau is one of my favorite places on earth. That’s why I relapsed into tourist mode a bit taking several landscape shots of the village’s castles situated in the middle of the Alps. Usually my rule of thumb on this trip has been to not photograph any buildings unless they are on fire, but I made an exception here:

Tourists make their way into a traditional Bavarian beer garden within view of Schloss Neuschwanstein, middle, on Sunday, May 23, 2010, in Schwangau, Germany. The castle was built as a tribute to Richard Wagner in 1869.

Schloss Hohenschwangau, at right, is seen perched upon a mountain on Sunday, May 23, 2010, in Schwangau, Germany. The castle was rebuilt in a neo-Gothic style from ruins of a 12th-century castle that occupied the same area.
