My primary assignment today was to photograph a troupe of blind dancers from the Shree Ramana Maharishi Academy for the Blind in India performing at the local Hindu temple. I wasn’t sure what to expect heading over there, but it turned into a pretty cool assignment. The temple’s alter is full of bright colors and the dancers wore colorful clothes, making for some colorful shots. The entire group of dancers are blind, which made it kind of amazing to see them pulling off the highly choreographed moves to perfection. I know I wouldn’t be able to do anything near what these guys could do.
This is a frame from today’s Illinois state boys golf championship over in Normal, Ill. I was assigned to photograph another golfer in this group, but I couldn’t resist getting a shot of this guy’s expression. With that look, one would think that he just hit it into a 10,000 foot crevasse. He missed the fairway right and had to hit between a couple trees, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as it looked.
