The Cutters out-sprinted Gray Goat on the final lap to capture victory in the 68th running of the Men’s Little 500 at Indiana University. The win is the Cutters’ 13th title and first championship since 2011.

Kappa Alpha Theta sprinted away from the pack in the final two corners to win the 31st running of the Women’s Little 500. The win, the fourth in five years, is Theta’s eighth Little 500 title.

Earlier this year I finally got my 1954 Rolleiflex Automat repaired. It’s been a vintage paperweight since 2012 when the camera strap failed in a rainstorm and fell onto the sidewalk in the Chicago Loop. Thanks to Mark Hansen for going through the camera and repairing the busted viewfinder. I have shot film on and off again since 2010, primarily with a Holga. To test out the repair and to (re)teach myself how to shoot on the Rollei, I exposed a few rolls and sent them off to The Find Lab. Here are the results of a few recent jaunts around IU’s campus:
I have been fascinated with the Old Crescent ever since I started working for Indiana University. It is the oldest part of campus and an area I tend to frequent often since it is near my office. In the past several years, the university administration has prioritized the reinvigoration of this corner of the IU Bloomington campus. For decades, the old limestone buildings housed primarily administrative offices. In recent years, however, these buildings have been gradually renovated and converted back into classroom buildings. The result is a more student-centric area of campus. This project is one that I tend to focus on more in winter and early spring when my daily work for the university slows. I try to shoot it using a historical aesthetic with an emphasis on the details and textures I find on my frequent jaunts through this beautiful part of campus.
