Truck rolls over in downtown Cheyenne

April 19, 2011

An editor grabbed me this morning to tell me that there was a truck rolled over in downtown Cheyenne. I immediately thought it must be a mistake. The speed downtown is 20 miles per hour. Sure enough, I showed up about the same time as the police to see that a full size Chevy pick up had rolled completely upside down. I’m interested to read the police report later to see how it happened.

Cheyenne police investigate the scene of a rollover accident on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, in downtown Cheyenne. The truck rolled over and came to a rest on Central Avenue south of Lincolnway.

Jamming at the library

April 14, 2011

The Laramie County Library is quickly becoming my favorite place in Cheyenne. It’s probably the nicest library I’ve ever seen with multiple floors and a coffee shop downstairs. But most importantly it has a very aggressive activities schedule with a ton of events for adults and youngsters. With two holes for feature photos in the paper almost every day and not many assignments, I spend a large amount of time feature hunting. The library makes my life a lot easier because there are several events each month that I can snag for features.

Mark Madrid, a 10th grader at Cheyenne East High School, plays his guitar during a jam session on Thursday, April 14, 2011, in the teen lounge at the Laramie County Library. The library holds an acoustic instrument jam session on the second Thursday of each month in the second-floor lounge.
