Fallen workers remembered

April 29, 2014

Workers Memorial Day
Mary Ellsworth hugs Tony Flora, president of the North Central Indiana AFL-CIO, after accepting a bouquet of flowers during a ceremony honoring workers killed on the job on Monday, April. 28, 2014, in Howard Park in South Bend. Ellsworth is the mother of Mark Ellsworth Jr., who was hit and killed by a falling tree while clearing a wooded area at Notre Dame on Nov. 21, 2013. Workers Memorial Day coincides with the creation of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in 1971. (James Brosher/South Bend Tribune)
