Since I’ve been done with finals since Tuesday, I came home to spend a few days at my parents’ place in Dunkirk, Ind. While I was home today, my dad was working to install a new 5-speed manual transmission in his 1957 Chevy Bel Air. I made a few pictures of his work as he uncovered some rust and interesting patchwork under the carpet in the interior of the car as cut a new hole in the floor for the shifter lever.
Tonight I drove up to Pennville, Ind. to take a few engagement shots of my friends Josh and Jessica who are getting married at the end of the month. I used a Nikon SB-600 fired using PocketWizard Plus II units for the shots. I wish I had a softbox to diffuse the light a bit more, but since I didn’t I used a simple speedlight bounce diffuser and set the zoom at 24 mm. Here’s a few of my favorites from the shoot:
This week at Indiana University is finals week. Since I’m a senior, it’s also my last week as a student at IU. After taking my last final today, I went home and grabbed my camera and walked around campus a bit. A few weeks back when I went to visit a professor’s office hours, I noticed a nice place for an overhead shot of a busy intersection on campus. I thought I’d stake out the spot and see if I could make a few pictures. I was surprised how dead campus was this evening despite finals.
To say I don’t photograph Tennis often is an understatement. That said, this weekend I’m photographing the Big Ten Men’s Tennis Tournament here in Bloomington. After getting a lot of peak action shots, I focused on trying to get something unique away from the action. Here’s a few results of my efforts:
