10 years at Indiana University

November 18, 2024

Sunday marked my tenth anniversary as a photographer at Indiana University. In this past decade, I have been very fortunate to document my beloved alma mater. I always tell my students that the camera is a passport to places you otherwise wouldn’t be able to go. This has certainly been the case here for me. From photographing and meeting John Cleese to witnessing a total solar eclipse, the camera has enriched my life with countless opportunities.

Granfalloon

June 9, 2024

Granfalloon is an annual festival inspired by the works and ethos of the famous Hoosier author Kurt Vonnegut Jr. The term “granfalloon” itself comes from Vonnegut’s novel Cat’s Cradle, where it refers to a group of people who outwardly choose or claim to have a shared identity or purpose, but whose mutual association is actually meaningless. Accordingly, this year’s festival featured an eclectic mix of events, including a musical performance by Sleater-Kinney, a Q&A with Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Carl Bernstein and an art exhibit talk by Nanette Vonnegut.
