12th USA International Harp Competition

August 20, 2022

This summer I photographed the 12th USA International Harp Competition on the Indiana University campus here in Bloomington. This was my second time photographing the event, which is held every three years. I had been looking forward to the competition since the organizers asked me last summer to document it once again. The great thing about being a photographer is the ability to use your camera as a passport to worlds you otherwise would never have the opportunity to explore. This was certainly the case for me with this community of world-class harpists. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to capture this event once again – and equally grateful that I had mirrorless camera silent shutters to help the cause this time around.

Melanzana wins 34th Women’s Little 500

April 25, 2022

Lead by a dominant performance from senior Grace Williams, Melanzana riders captured the 34th Women’s Little 500 championship by more than a lap and a half. Williams, a former Division I distance runner, broke away from the pack about a quarter of the way into the race. The team’s lead proved insurmountable for the field as Melanzana riders won the first title in the team’s 10-year history.
