Sledding in October

October 27, 2011

A week before Halloween can only mean one thing: good sledding right? Well usually not, but thanks to several inches of snowfall on Tuesday evening, Pando Park in Cheyenne was filled with kids and their parents trying out the fresh powder with their sleds on Wednesday afternoon.

Taylor Hollibough, 3, reacts as she slides down a hill into Pando Park on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, in Cheyenne. It was the first time Hollibough had sledded by herself on her own sled.

Wyoming basketball media day

October 19, 2011

At the Wyoming basketball media day I ended up doing a little series of portraits of several players and coaches. I hadn’t expected to shoot portraits going in so I ended up settling on a very quick and simple setup using a couple Canon speedlights in a tunnel leading down to the court at the Arena Auditorium. I did several variations of the same pose and lighting setup so to post them all would be very repetitive. Here are my two favorites:

Wyoming veterans return on final Honor Flight

October 13, 2011

William Vollman, of Douglas, Wyo., shakes hands as he walks through the terminal of the Cheyenne Regional Airport after the Honor Flight's return on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, in Cheyenne. Vollman was one of about 80 veterans to make the trip to the nation's capitol to visit the National World War II Memorial. It was the Honor Flight as the group has exhausted the entire waiting list of Wyoming World War II veterans who wanted to make the journey.
